As a Business Development/Sales Representative responsible for the Eastern States region, your challenge will be to raise awareness of the ALE brand and services, and establish contacts with clients which will ultimately lead to the provision of ALE’s services. Reporting directly to the General Manager (East Coast), you will be able to call upon ALE’s huge diverse array of engineering skills, equipment and operational logistics team to design, offer and the provide unique and innovative solutions to the most demanding Heavylift and transport challenges.

You will have a proven track record of business development in the region, having developed your skills in such sectors as mining, oil & gas, energy, ports or shipping. While commercial crane hire or heavylift transport experience is favourable it is not a requirement. If you have confidence in your sales abilities, can open doors and engage clients with effective solutions to their heavylift and transport problems, then we can help lift your career to new heights.

Role Responsibility

• Developing a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals, budgets and profitability;

• Initiate and coordinate development of sales action plans to penetrate new markets;

• Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed;

• Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance;

• Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all enquiries submitted for pricing, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

• Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity;

• Create and conduct proposal presentations and ITT (Invitation to Tender) responses;

• Preparation of sales proposals and presentations;

• Control expenses to meet budget guidelines;

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes to ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

The Ideal Candidate



Industry (mining, oil & gas, ports, shipping) relevant networks in  QLD/NSW/VIC/SA.


Market specific (crane hire, heavylift and heavy transport) knowledge, including rates, networks and clients.

Engineering/technical degree preferred;



Demonstrated previous experience (min. 3 years) working in a relevant business development/engineering/sales environment;


Previous experience in specifically related industries



Good communicator, adept at relationship buildingÂ

Proficient in Microsoft applications;

Dynamic, willing to learn



Exceptional oral, written communication and interpersonal/networking skills;

Confident presenter with the ability to influence at a senior level;



Driving licence and available to travel at short notice
