Although best known for our expertise in developing lubricants for cars and bikes, we also produce lubricants that directly affect our daily lives in other ways such as in gas and electricity production, transport industries, construction, earth moving vehicles and the marine and industrial sector in general.
We are now recruiting for a Permit To Work Authority to join our lubricant production plant in Spotswood for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the HSSE Advisor, the role is primarily concerned with ensuring that all third party contractors visiting our plant are properly inducted, supervised and that all necessary paperwork and tasks are completed in-line with HSSEQ standards and regulations for all work on site. This will include conducting risk assessments, reviewing safe work method statements, and conducting site inspections and generating permits to work.
The role will require some weekend and after-hours work.
Key accountabilities • Check contractor qualifications, insurance and other necessary items before arriving on site
• Coordinating contractor visits and site inductions
• Preparing paperwork for issuing permits such as risk assessments, safe work method statements and other necessary documentation
• Checking contractor equipment for compliance prior to any work commencing
• Contractor supervision and job site inspections, including total supervision of all high-risk activities being undertaken
• Collaborating with the Production and Management teams on a regular basis, in particular when taking machinery and equipment out of service

Essential experience and job requirements In order to be considered for this role, applicants must; be expert in the preparation of permits for high risk work; have meaningful experience working in the oil and gas or construction industry; have extensive experience in the supervision of contractors on site where high-risk activities are being undertaken and; have at least an intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Other Requirements (e.g. Travel, Location) This role will require some after hours and weekend work and the successful applicant will be compensated through having time off in lieu of this additional work.
This role is vital to ensure that all work taking place over the next 12 months is executed in line with company and regulatory HSSEQ standards. As such, only those applicants that meet all of the above criteria can be considered.
