About the role:
We have an exciting part time position vacancy in our Launceston location. This position will work with participants and their families to build capacity to exercise choice and control and support them to achieve their goals by building new community networks and accessing support and services in their community.
The LAC will also work with local organisations and communities to build awareness and improve opportunities for people with disability to access and actively participate in community activities.
Engage in person centred planning, support and life skills development with people with a disability, according to their goals and immediate needs
Build individual and family capacity to clarify their goals, exercise choice and control, and to participate in the community
Engage with service providers and assist people with a disability to access their services.
Skills and experience:
Demonstrated comprehensive assessment and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to support people with a disability to set and reach their goals
Excellent organisational, time management skills, and ability to be self-directed
Able to work within complex environments and be outcome focused
Comprehensive understanding of the Disability, Child, Youth and Family Services sector, including Child Protection, the requirements of the Disability Services Act 2011, and the Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997 and other key legislative reforms.
Level 2 first aid certificate or willingness to obtain
Current licence to drive a motor vehicle
