About the Company

This service provides a wide range of health services to clients from the local area and surrounding communities. Their aim is to increase the accessibility of health services for clients in regional areas of Western Australia as well as reaching out to patients in remote communities. As one of the areas only health services, staff often have the chance to deal with a wide range of different patients.

About the Job

This aim of the position is to assist the team in providing care to a range of clients from the local communities. You will build rapport with the patients and contribute towards their recovery and general well-being, working along side the allied health team consisting of a Senior Speech Pathologist and a Senior Physiotherapist.

This position also offers the opportunity to work with a varied patient base however the majority of patients will be paediatric. Given the nature of the location and the service, we are seeking an occupational therapist with rounded skills and experience with paediatric patients. Experience managing those with intellectual disabilities including those on the spectrum. Support can be provided however in some cases you may need to work independently.

Day to Day Duties

Day to day duties will include:

  • Working one to one with clients from a range of backgrounds
  • Providing hospital or community based care to patients
  • Managing your own caseload
  • Working alongside other members of the MDT

Skills and Experience required

  • Ability to engage clients from a range of backgrounds
  • Previous experience within a similar setting
  • Full AHPRA registration with no practice limitations
