We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT team in Sydney on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

APA has initiated an enterprise program of work to address the current challenges in relation to Data Governance. The program objective is to achieve full capture, sound governance, quality and fit for purpose use of APA’s data.

Reporting to the Business Analyst Manager your role will be in assisting APA in preparation for the implementation of ECM technology enablement. This will commence with an extensive process mapping and improvement exercise and expand to involve all aspects of system and business analysis including root cause analysis, as well as the identification, documentation, justification of solution requirements, and coordination of solution delivery. Significant Business Analysis will be required to understand current state and assist in guiding Program improvement initiatives.

On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:
Process, systems & business analysis, business case development and in accordance with agreed methodologies and assigned time-frames, scope, quality and budget objectives
Mapping current processes, documents, data and technology and work with Stakeholders to develop and document appropriate improvements
Investigation of content stores (documents and other media), business systems, identifying current state and required improvements to migrate to an ECM technology environment i.e. OpenText, Documentum etc.
Assisting in the development of metadata model, business classification scheme, taxonomies etc. in preparation for the future ECM environment
Overall, assisting to determine improvements to current state and good practice in information management and bridging the needs of the business with the use of technology
Application and adherence to approved business analysis, project management and solution development methodologies and processes
Identifying, documenting and qualifying systems / business improvement opportunities through consultation with APA business stakeholders
Management of resolution of information management related issues raised by business stakeholders

To excel in this position you will have the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Proven success in these activities within multiple and complex asset engineering, owner and/or operator environments
Strong process mapping and re-engineering skills
Exceptional consultation skills particularly in dealing with time-poor stakeholders
Experience with the information and record management requirements ‘of “controlled” documentation
Understanding of sound record management policy, requirements and methods
Experience with using the Sparx EA tool
Background with DMS / ECM processes and applications (ie Opentext, Documentum, Livelink)
Relevant tertiary qualifications, or currently working towards (preferred)
BA or PMO recognised Certification (such as IIBA), (preferred)
