Administrator for Aboriginal Catholic Ministry for Victoria (ACMV)


The position of Administration Assistant / Property Coordinator is a permanent part-time position, 4 days per week within the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry for Victoria.

This role is based in Thornbury.

This is an identified position for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

Salary and Working conditions are in accordance with experience and the employment conditions of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne

The Administrator will be required to provide executive support to the Coordinator of the ACMV inclusive of but not limited to:

Monitoring appointments / speaking engagements and updating diary

Monitoring correspondence

Other duties as required

The Administrator of the ACMV will be responsible, in collaboration with the ACMV Team members, for:

Daily, weekly, monthly and annual Administrative duties

General correspondence / mail / preparation of information brochures

Supplying the flow of current information for the web-site

The maintaining and management of data information (mailing lists / volunteer rosters etc)

Ensuring the ACMV Manual is kept up to date.

General facilitation of the ACMV as a venue.

Liaising with appropriate departments of Archdiocese of Melbourne in relation to property maintenance and IT facilities

Facilitating group bookings of the ACMV for the meetings, workshops, cultural awareness training.

Coordinating the delivery of ACMV programmes ensuring that the ACMV Centre is ready to receive groups.

Manage the ACMV data bases (volunteers / donors / members etc.)

Required Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and issues.

Administration, organisational and communication skills both written and verbal.

A sound knowledge of Microsoft’s Office suite of applications (Word, Excel and Publisher)

Flexibility to attend functions at times outside of office hours

Current Drivers Licence

The ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team

A willingness to work within the ethos and values of the ACMV

Preferred Skills and Experience

Knowledge of Design Software including Publisher

Strong writing and submission skills

Strong office IT skills

(Professional Development training in these areas can be provided to the right candidate)

Other relevant requirements if successful:
Working with Children check.

Police check.

Valid Australian work rights
