    The Role As the Assistant Coordinator, Domestic Violence you will be responsible for providing a high level of expert advice and support to the Coordinator.

    Example duties include

    • Assisting the WDVAS Coordinator in the overall administration of the WDVCAS
    • Coordinating the safe room at the local Court
    • Representing the WDVCAS Coordinator at Networking forums
    • Coordinating/managing the operation of discrete areas of the WDVCAS such as outreach service

    The Candidate A successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the dynamics, complexities and legal and social welfare consequences of domestic violence. Knowledge of the criminal justice response to domestic violence including ADVO applications and criminal prosecutions and related legal matters such as family law.

    Essential Criteria

    • Good Communication skills, negotiation, advocacy and conflict resolution
    • Ability to Network
    • Ability to implement service delivery strategies
    • Knowledge and understanding of Legal Aid NSW policies in relation to grants of legal aid for people in domestic violence matters

    Desirable Criteria

    • Current driver’s licence and comprehensively insured car
    • Previous experience in a Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service Position
    • Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with interpreter services
