About 107 Projects 107 Projects is a creative community organisation advancing culture in Sydney. 107 promotes, plans, presents and produces arts and cultural community development initiatives. Our key area of impact is in Redfern, where we manage a multi-disciplinary creative hub at 107 Redfern Street.

In 2017, 107 is undertaking its biggest stage of growth, expanding to two properties with the addition of Green Square’s new creative hub – Joynton Avenue Creative Centre. 107 will be responsible for overseeing the centre’s daily operations, including engaging creative tenants for each space and developing programs and activities that engage with the local community and creative sector.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced individual to join 107 Projects as a Finance Officer.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Officer plays a crucial role in the management of finances and statutory financial requirements of 107 Projects Inc.

As the successful applicant you will have previous experience in and be responsible for:

  • Accounting, completing month end reconciliations and preparing financial reports
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Payroll
  • Liaising with external auditors as required
  • Managing compliance requirements

Essential Criteria

  • CPA or CA qualified or progress to be qualified
  • Qualifications in Accountancy or related discipline
  • High level skills and experience in Xero, Excel and Word
  • Bookkeeping and financial management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and manage multiple budgets, monitor resource usage and performance
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting business plan development and monitoring
  • Knowledge of compliance and financial obligations for Not-For-Profit organisations
  • Payroll experience
  • Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working within a Not-For-Profit, particularly with grant funding
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian Tax Law as it relates to small business and not-for-profit organisations including GST and FBT
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience in providing financial management support in the creative industries
  • Active with own creative practice or an interest in arts and culture
  • Experience in business administration and operations
